|Dear Friends & Family, |
When I walked in the Heart Walk in 2015 I did it to support our manager, Bruce Bochy, who was the leader of the walk. He had some heart issues during spring training and we were all very worried about him and thankful he was ok. Plus itís hard to say no to the guy!!! Never once during my walk did I think that I would be lucky if I was able to do the walk again.
A few days before opening day this year I had a quintuple bypass. I thought that was something that older people had. I had just turned 50 and didnít think I was old enough. I am very fortunate it was not worse and lucky I went to doctor saying I didnít feel well. Mr Byer helped me find the Willie Mays of heart surgeons!!! Not sure how long I would have lasted if they had not figured out I had 80% blockages in my arteries. No wonder I had no energy but couldnít sleep. Fortunately I am back on track and the nurses at Cardiac Rehab are pushing me hard.
With the love and support of my family, friends and co-workers I CAN join Bruce and the rest of the Giants front office in this yearís walk on Friday, September 16th. I will definitely have a different attitude this time as the orange and black crew rumbles down the Embarcadero. I wonít take this opportunity for granted.
I humbly ask that you join me in my quest to raise $40,000 for the American Heart Association. Please make a secure, tax-deductible donation and support my efforts to fight our nation's No. 1 and No. 5 killers - heart disease and stroke.
Events like Heart Walk make a difference. Through education and research, the American Heart Association is working to build healthier lives for all Americans.
Thank you in advance for your donation and support!
